After higher education students during their free time, they try to learn new skills and computer course is one of them. Students move to other nearby cities or they have to travel a long way to take computer courses. Ark has been planning to provide computer courses to local students and also it has been one of the requests by the students themselves. This year we are planning to start computer course so that the students who can’t afford to move and can’t afford to take computer courses will have privilege to have one.

All the children from the village are invited where all the fun activities, dance, drama, songs, storytelling, sports coaching and life values are taught during those days. We also provide snacks and gifts to children. The aim of kids game is to help children to socialize, refresh their mind, build relationship with the children and teacher (our team) which will help us to continue doing follow up with the kids and helping them.
In many rural communities, children, especially those from marginalized groups, suffer from emotional neglect and lack access to basic facilities like education, recreational spaces, and love. These children often face hardships, with little to no opportunity for play, education, or nurturing care. Our ‘ARK Room’ aims to provide a safe, welcoming space where these children can experience the love and care they deserve. The ARK Room will offer a variety of facilities, including:
– Toys and Dolls: To allow children to experience the joy of play and imagination.
– Sports Equipment: To encourage physical activity and teamwork.
– Books and Learning Resources: To support educational growth, including English lessons and moral education.
– Snacks and Refreshments: To ensure that children receive proper nutrition and feel cared for.
In the ARK Room, children will also be provided with a space to express them, share their feelings, and learn in an environment that fosters personal growth and self-confidence. This initiative aims to help children heal from past neglect and build a brighter future by giving them the emotional and physical resources they need.
One of the significant barriers to education for many children in the Terai region is the lack of basic school supplies. Many of these children come from impoverished families, and some do not have parents to support them. Even if they want to attend school, they often lack the essential items such as uniforms, bags, shoes, and stationery. Without these, it becomes difficult for them to engage fully in school life, which can lead to absenteeism and, eventually, dropping out.
To address this issue, we plan to provide school uniforms, bags, shoes, and stationery to children in need. This support will ensure that children have the basic necessities to attend school with dignity and confidence. By providing these essential items, we hope to reduce barriers to education and create an environment where children feel included, motivated, and empowered to pursue their studies.
The cold waves that sweep across the Terai region of Nepal have become an increasing threat to the local population. Over the past three years, these severe weather conditions have resulted in the tragic deaths of 46 people due to hypothermia. The impact of winter is particularly harsh in the Terai, where many families live in poverty and lack sufficient shelter or clothing to protect them from the biting cold. The vulnerability of children during this season is especially alarming.
To help mitigate these risks, we are distributing ‘warm clothing’ to children in need. Providing winter jackets, woolen clothes, and other essential items will help protect children from the cold and reduce the risk of winter-related health issues. Our efforts aim not only to save lives but also to ensure that children can attend school during the winter without the added burden of inadequate clothing. This initiative will help minimize the number of cold-related fatalities and ensure that every child stays safe throughout the winter months.
We are collaborating with a local government school that faces significant challenges, including a shortage of trained teachers and an outdated teaching system. The school struggles with a lack of qualified educators, and its teaching approach does not adequately support the needs of students. Many Musahar children, a marginalized community in the Terai region, do not attend school. Instead, they are sent to work on farms to help their parents, as their families are often unaware of the importance of education. Additionally, the poor condition of the school, combined with a discouraging approach from some teachers, further deters children from attending.
Our goal is to increase school enrollment by encouraging children from these underprivileged families to attend school regularly. Specifically, we aim to admit 6 to 7 new children each year. Through awareness programs and improved support for families, we want to create an environment where children feel motivated to learn and thrive, not just for academic growth, but for their overall well-being.
The Government School of Aurahi is currently facing several challenges, with teachers displaying a lack of responsibility and using outdated teaching methods. As a result, students are not receiving the quality education they need, and their attendance is irregular. Ark aims to address these issues by supporting and training teachers to adopt a more responsible, effective approach to teaching. By providing comprehensive and holistic training, we believe that teachers will be better equipped to engage students, fostering regular attendance and improved learning outcomes. We collaborate with various organizations to offer training programs that help teachers adopt modern, child-centered teaching methodologies.
We recognize the importance of holistic development for children. Understanding that children learn through visual, auditory, and kinesthetic means, we prioritize extracurricular activities that support their diverse learning needs. Each child is unique, with individual talents and interests, and we aim to nurture these qualities by forming clubs that cater to various passions, such as Sports, Music & Dance, Art & Craft, and Book Clubs. By organizing activities based on students’ interests, we not only help them develop life skills and moral values but also build strong relationships with them. Our dedicated team leads these clubs, ensuring that every child receives personalized attention and care.
The condition of women from marginalized communities—whether they are from racial, ethnic, socio-economic, or sexual minority groups—can be particularly challenging, as they often face a unique intersection of discrimination and oppression. Empowerment and skill development not only enhance their ability to become self-sufficient, but also enable them to challenge the social, economic, and cultural barriers that limit their potential. They have to depend on their husband or their father for any financial cost or to run the family. Ark aims to start empowerment program for women. Here are several reasons why these interventions are critical:
Economic Independence and Financial Empowerment
Building Confidence and Self-Esteem
Once in a year we will have health camp targeting all the Musahar community and other people living nearby. Many women are suffering from Gynecological Health Issues and they are not able to treat it because of poverty. We want to health those women who need help in health sector. We will have a group of health workers who will volunteer in the health camp.
